Use the AI detector on this page to make sure your text doesn’t sound like it was written by AI. People don't dislike AI writing, they dislike writing they think is AI. So instead of using an advanced tool to check if a text was AI generated, use our free AI detector which is based on a simple formula, and find out how closely your text matches AI writing patterns.
The purpose of your AI content review or your AI detection system isn't to find out whether AI was used to write a text. It's to find out whether a text sounds like it was written by AI. And whether it's any good.
In a research study conducted by University of Central Florida, the participants read through two different stories. Afterwards they were asked to rate the quality of those stories.
Whenever a participant was told that a story was written by AI—whether it was in fact generated by AI or a human—they would consistently rate the quality of the story lower.
The real finding of the study wasn’t that AI writing is as good as human writing, but rather that readers dislike things they think is AI. The backlash to Coca Cola’s 2025 Christmas advertisement is a great example of this problem. Most of the discussion around the brand’s decision to use AI was not around the quality of the end result, but around the cost to writers, animators and visual artists.
So the real reason you need to review your AI content before it’s published isn't necessarily to improve quality but more to remove obvious signs of AI creation. And inadvertently this becomes a step in human written content as well.

Online Proofing for Encodify lets you batch review files, which is especially helpful if you’re producing a large amount of content with AI.
The batch overview screen gives you a visual representation of every file within a project, and you can easily add comments to highlight errors or design inconsistencies across multiple files.

Our AI detector uses word predictability, repeated phrases, similarity between sentences, and the presence of phrases typically used by AI, such as “as a language model” and “in conclusion” as signs of AI generation.
Each of the parameters contribute to an overall score, which is combined to give you a percentage. This percentage indicates how closely the uploaded text matches AI generated text.
The higher the score, the more signs of AI are detected within the text. But be aware that a 100% human written text following AI writing patterns can be flagged as AI written.
Multiple studies have found that consumers don’t dislike AI generated content as much as they dislike content they think is AI generated. An AI detector is a quick way to identify patterns that are commonly used by AI to generate a text, which lets you correct these patterns and improve how the text is perceived.
When it comes to the use of AI , the 30% rule is a simple guideline to help you use AI responsibly. It means that whether you are creating an essay, SEO blog, image or a piece of code, no more than 30% of the final output should be taken directly from AI. And additionally those 30% should have been through an AI content review.
When you use our AI detector, results with a high "% AI detected" or "% match with AI" doesn't mean that the text is necessarily generated by AI, the percentage instead indicates how closely the writing patterns in your text matches AI generated text.
This is because studies have found that it is of less importance whether a piece of content was generated by AI than it is whether the piece of content looks like it was generated by AI.
